Principal's message

To our Chelsea Community,

On behalf of the CPS staff, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for making 2024 a fantastic and memorable year at Chelsea Primary School.

This year, our community has shared incredible moments, and the dedication of our teachers, the enthusiasm of our students, and the unwavering support of our families have been at the heart of it all. Our teaching staff continued to excel, creating rich and engaging learning experiences, while our students have flourished, achieving remarkable academic, social, and emotional growth throughout the year. Together, we have built a stronger, more connected community.

There have been countless highlights in 2024, some of which include:

  • Our spectacular Twilight Festival, where we surpassed our fundraising target.
  • The whole school production in Term 3, showcasing the incredible talent of our students.
  • Watching students shine at assembly during ‘Star Performers’ and ‘Chelsea’s Got Talent.’
  • Outstanding sporting achievements across the school.
  • Special cultural and awareness days, such as Korean Day, Book Week, Harmony Day, and Dyslexia Awareness Week.
  • The joy of our annual Christmas Carols event.
  • Beach activities, including Lifesaving and Sailing days.
  • Students embracing independence through our various camp experiences.
  • The excitement of our new building opening, transforming the landscape of our school and providing state-of-the-art facilities.

This year has been made even more special by the strong partnerships between staff and families. Parents have played a vital role in the success of Chelsea Primary School by volunteering as classroom helpers, School Council members, and event organisers, as well as supporting productions, fundraisers, and excursions. Your involvement is what helps Chelsea thrive, and we are deeply grateful.

It is bittersweet to say goodbye to Maddie Culshaw, who is off to England in 2025 to pursue her dreams. Maddie has been an integral part of our team, and we wish her every success in her travels and career abroad.

We wish to farewell all of those families who are leaving us in 2024, whether that is because they have seen their last child through to Grade Six, or because they are moving elsewhere. We farewell the following families:

Abraham, Anstey, Bannon, Barr, Brownscombe, Castellino, Chen, Cid, Cooper, Finnin, Gelal, Geyer, Hoernel, Jacob, Kissane, Lee, Lewis, Mayers, McGiveron, McKenzie, Ransom, Ronan, Sfarlea, Steponavicius, Teml, Vong and Warren

Finally, to our graduating Class of 2024, congratulations on completing this chapter of your learning journey. We know you will carry the Chelsea values of respect, responsibility, resilience, and relationships with you as you move into secondary school. Your future is bright, and we can’t wait to hear about your achievements—please don’t forget to visit us!

Wishing everyone a restful and joyful holiday season with loved ones. We look forward to welcoming you back to CPS on Wednesday, 29 January 2025.
