At Chelsea Primary School, we use a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to make sure every student gets the right level of support to succeed.
This means all students receive high-quality teaching, and additional support is provided when needed.
Tier 1: Quality Teaching for All Students
All students receive strong, structured teaching in every classroom.
This includes:

Guided practice and support

Opportunities to practise independently

Regular feedback
This meets the needs of most students.
Tier 2: Extra Support for Some Students
Some students need a little extra help to build confidence and understanding.
This may include:

Small group support

Targeted teaching based on student needs
Tier 3: Individual Support for a Small Number of Students
A small number of students may need more intensive support.
This may include:

One-on-one or very small group support

Individual learning plans

Additional support from specialists if required
